Marissa B. Gart is a trial attorney who concentrates her practice in labor and employment law, litigation, and counseling matters. Marissa represents employers in the defense of employment discrimination and sexual harassment claims; overtime and minimum wage claims; and contractual disputes involving the enforcement of non-competition agreements and the enforceability of restrictive covenants, in both federal and state courts. Marissa also advises employers and assists in creating handbooks, manuals, policies and guidelines to protect their business.
Prior to joining Padula Bennardo Levine LLP, Marissa was as a family law attorney in Boca Raton, Florida, litigating sensitive, highly contested legal issues for her clients. Marissa started her as an Assistant Public Defender for Broward County, Florida, representing indigent persons accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes.
Marissa was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida and is a member of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. Marissa graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2005 with a B.A. in English and graduated from the University of Miami, School of Law, Coral Gables, Florida in 2010 with a Juris Doctorate.
